Westlakes Archers was Incorporated in 1992.
In its history, the club has had several Senior and Junior Australian and State champions. Since 1983 the club commenced hosting the Annual Lake Macquarie Games and is still doing so. The club has also hosted Trans Tasman Games, Trans Tasman Masters Games and the Australian Masters Games in previous years.
The club has overcome many challenges including bushfire which wiped out the clubhouse, a shipping container used for equipment storage and the 24 Target Field range. Vandalism has also been an ongoing issue that has cost the club thousands of dollars to repair damages and replacing stolen equipment. Most recently, COVID-19 impacted on club operations, events and the club’s ability to fundraise.
